Nebraska women’s basketball bounced back in a big way Wednesday night from the team's disappointing 62-58 loss to Minnesota.

In front of a Pinnacle Bank Arena "Red Out" crowd, the Husker defense smothered the Michigan Wolverines en route to a 62-43 win. The Big Red moved to 13-5 on the year and 5-2 in the Big Ten.

NU imposed its will on the defensive end for 40 minutes against the Wolverines. Michigan shot a measly 32% from the floor and 26% from three while getting dominated on the boards 46 to 28 in favor of Nebraska.

NU got massive efforts from freshman Natalie Potts, who hauled in 10 boards, and the Big Ten rebound leader, Alexis Markowski, who pulled in seven.

Potts also scored 13 points, marking her third double-double of the year.

The Big Red also got massive contributions off the bench from Kendall Moriarity. The junior had a season-high 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the floor.

Nebraska will now go on the road to take on the Penn State Nittany Lions on Sunday, Jan. 21
