One of the best seasons in Nebraska soccer history has come to a close.

The Huskers fell 2-1 in overtime at Stanford Friday evening. NU closes the season at 17-4-3.

In just the third Elite Eight appearance ever for Nebraska, it was the Cardinal getting out front first, scoring just 11 minutes into the match. The Huskers answered, but not until the 86th minute as Sarah Weber headed a Jordan Zade ball into the back of the net.

In overtime, Stanford took a quick lead and held on to take the victory and qualify for their 11th College Cup.

The 17 wins on the season are the most for Nebraska since the 2013 season.
