A signature win is already in the back pocket early in this Nebraska volleyball season.

The No. 4 Huskers improved to 8-0 win a four-set win (25-23, 25-16, 19-25, 25-21) at No. 5 Stanford. This is the first Big Red victory over the Cardinal since 2008 and first road win against a top-5 opponent since a victory at No. 2 Penn state in 2017.

"Stanford's a great team," Nebraska coach John Cook said afterward. "They've got some great players. This is a whole 'nother level than what we've been playing."

The defense once again carried Nebraska, holding Stanford to .218 hitting while notching 11.5 blocks. NU hit .333 for the match.

Merritt Beason led the Big Red with 15 kills, while Harper Murray put down 12 kills on .417 hitting with four blocks and three ace serves. Andi Jackson tallied eight kills on .462 hitting, and Bekka Allick chipped in seven kills on .500 hitting with a career-high eight blocks.

Lexi Rodriguez had 12 digs, while Bergen Reilly had seven digs to go with 37 assists and three kills. (Complete stats here.)

Another top-25 matchup awaits Nebraska as No. 21 Kentucky comes to Lincoln on Sunday.
