Nebraska volleyball coach John Cook said one of his team's goals was to win a state title.

The No. 4 Huskers (6-0) had already swept Omaha the week before. On Wednesday, NU topped No. 16 Creighton in four sets (25-9, 25-13, 23-25, 25-20) to fend off the other Division I program in the state.

Nebraska hit .305 while Creighton used a strong final two sets to manage .109.

Merritt Beason led all attackers with 17 kills. Also in double figures were Lindsay Krause (12) and Harper Murray (10). Bergen Reilly had a season-high 42 assists.

A Bob Devaney Sports Center record for volleyball attendance was set at the match: 8,656.

Nebraska stays home Saturday to host Long Beach State.
