Ohio State Extend Winning Streak, Beat Michigan State

The Ohio State Buckeyes prevailed on Sunday against the Michigan State Spartans, taking an 86-71 victory home with them from East Lansing, Michigan.

The Ohio State Buckeyes women's basketball team continues to impress.

On Sunday, the Buckeyes defeated the Michigan State Spartans 86-71 on the road in East Lansing, Michigan. The Scarlet and Gray have now won each of their last 11 games, dating back to a 30-point decision against the Northwestern Wildcats on January 5.

Duke Blue Devils transfer Celeste Taylor led the Buckeyes in scoring with 20 points, with ten coming in the game's first seven minutes. The graduate guard finished 8-for-13 (over 61 percent) from the floor, along with a two-for-three clip from behind the three-point line.

Ohio State graduate forward Rebeka Mikulasikova finished just behind Taylor in the scoring department with 19 points, along with 18 points from graduate guard Jacy Sheldon. Sophomore forward Cotie McMahon led the Buckeyes with seven rebounds and tied Mikulasikova and Sheldon for the most assists on her team with five.

The Buckeyes set a new pair of career highs during Sunday's contest, setting new marks with 28 team assists and a shooting percentage of just under 58 percent from the field.

Ohio State's win over Michigan State completed its series sweep, putting the Scarlet and Gray at 2-0 on the year against the Spartans. The Buckeyes had previously beaten the Spartans 70-65 in Columbus, Ohio on January 14.

The Buckeyes are back in action this Wednesday, February 14 against the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Tip-off at the Schottenstein Center is scheduled for 7 p.m., with live coverage of the game airing on NBC's streaming service, Peacock.
