Battle of Elite Defenses Ahead Between No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes and No. 3 Michigan Wolverines

The Ohio State Buckeyes and Michigan Wolverines are two of the best teams in the country, and are armed with nationally recognized defenses.

No introduction can possibly do justice to the coming game between the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes and the No. 3 Michigan Wolverines.

The undefeated Buckeyes and Wolverines do battle on Saturday, November 25 in the latest edition of what many believe is the greatest rivalry in college sports.

Ohio State and Michigan's offenses have garnered a majority of the attention from fans and national media, but the defenses could be the deciding factor this weekend. A recent statistic from Pro Football Focus (PFF) put just how dominant the pair of defenses are in quantitative form.

According to PFF, the Buckeyes and Wolverines were the only two teams in the country to have limited each of their ten opponents this season to less than 20 points going into Saturday. However, a 31-24 victory over the Maryland Terrapins broke this streak for Michigan.

Ohio State defended their home turf on Senior Day against the Minnesota Golden Gophers by a final score of 37-3, making them now the only college football team to allow 20 points or fewer to each of their opponents this season.

The Buckeyes held the then-No. 9 Notre Dame Fighting Irish to 14 points back in late September, and limited the then-No. 7 Penn State Nittany Lions to 12 points on October 21. In their only game against a ranked opponent this season, Michigan allowed the Nittany Lions 15 points during their contest on November 11 in State College, Pennsylvania.

Ohio State and Michigan take the field at 12 p.m. eastern this Saturday, November 25 inside Michigan Stadium. Live coverage of the game will air on FOX from Ann Arbor, Michigan.
