Evaluating Ohio State, Kyle McCord's Week 2 Game Film vs. Youngstown State

We take a look at the tape to figure out where the Buckeyes performed well and where they need to improve.

It's time to take a look at the tape from Ohio State's Week 2 win over the Youngstown State Penguins. In some critical ways, the Buckeyes took a step forward in their second game of the year. Kyle McCord largely looked impressive, Marvin Harrison Jr. showed why he can be such a game-breaker and the defense stepped up after allowing an opening-drive touchdown to shut down Youngstown State the rest of the game.

But is there trouble lurking in the trenches? Ohio State showed some signs of improvement, but overall didn't play as well as we expected at the point of attack on either side against a team they were favored to beat by 41 points.

Class is in session during our Monday morning film session! Former college QB Anthony Moeglin helps us understand the ups and downs of where the Buckeyes are right now.

In this week's film session, we evaluate both Kyle McCord and Devin Brown's tape, pointing out good throws and a few mistakes along the way. We'll give you examples of where the offensive line provided a great pocket and a few where there was some unnecessary pressure. Emeka Egbuka's touchdown probably didn't get enough love during the game, largely because the wide receivers delivered an incredible block to spring him free. And we'll showcase where the defense shined on a Denzel Burke interception.

Moeglin joins Brendan Gulick live every week day morning at 7 AM to talk Ohio State football. Join us LIVE on YouTube or ON-DEMAND wherever you like to find your favorite podcasts all season long.
