Ohio State Buckeyes Coach Ryan Day Shares Injury Update on Emeka Egbuka, TreVeyon Henderson

The No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes will need to be at their healthiest ahead of Saturday's marquee matchup with the No. 7 Penn State Nittany Lions in Columbus. Coach Ryan Day's team is coming off a convincing 41-7 win over the Purdue Boilermakers, but did so without key contributors in receiver Emeka Egbuka and running backs TreVeyon Henderson and Miyan Williams.

With College Football Playoff implications on the line Saturday, Ohio State will need everyone healthy in order to keep control of the program's championship destiny. Day kept things a bit under wraps, but provided a "hopeful" update on the status of the offensive trio when speaking to the media on Tuesday.

"I'm not gonna get into all those guys, but hopeful that we'll have all those guys back for Saturday," Day said.

Day is likely keeping the competitive advantage strong by not revealing the status of three key offensive players. The Buckeyes would certainly be at a disadvantage without Egbuka and Henderson, but still have the star-studded Marvin Harrison Jr. at receiver and an improving Dallan Hayden in the backfield.

This season, Egbuka hasn't had trouble finding the end zone but has yet to have a explosive performance. In five games, he's posted 22 catches for 303 yards and three touchdowns to go along with four carries for 21 yards.

As for Henderson, he's totaled 44 carries for 295 yards and five touchdowns, while Williams has 25 rushing attempts for 96 yards and a pair of scores.

Ohio State and Penn State kickoff on Saturday at 12 p.m. ET.
