Ohio State Buckeyes WR Marvin Harrison Jr. Listed As SI's Top Prospect For 2024 NFL Draft

Sports Illustrated believes Marvin Harrison Jr. is the top NFL prospect heading into the final month of the regular season.

Week by week, all Marvin Harrison Jr. does is make highlight grabs and find the end zone. Now, he's making moves up NFL draft boards heading into November.

Sports Illustrated listed the Ohio State Buckeyes receiver as the top prospect for the 2024 class. Harrison is expected to be the first receiver drafted come April and is considered a top-five lock regardless of team selection.

The son of a Hall of Fame pass catcher, the younger Marvin has all the traits to eventually earn his own gold jacket, too. October’s top-10 showdown against Penn State matched Harrison up against one of this year’s top cornerback prospects, Kalen King (No. 19 on this list), and it never even looked like a fair fight. - Luke Easterling

Harrison continues to live up to the billing as a generational pass-catcher for the No. 3 Buckeyes. Each week, another highlight reel is added to the resume and opposing defenses are left with questions on how to defend his near-flawless route-running and sure-fire hands.

And records could be broken by No. 18 before he declares for the draft. Harrison needs one more 100-yard receiving performance over the next four games to tie David Boston for the all-time record in 100-yard games at 14. With 15, he'll sit atop the Buckeyes' rankings, surpassing standouts like Joey Galloway, Ted Ginn Jr., Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave and countless others.

While Malik Nabers (LSU), Luther Burden III (Missouri) and Rome Odunze (Washington) were named AP midseason All-Americans, Harrison has been the more consistent receiver in recent weeks. Since Week 5's win over Maryland, the 6-4 junior has totaled at least six catches for 105 yards and a touchdown per game.

In last week's 24-10 win over Wisconsin, Harrison finished with six catches for 123 yards and two touchdowns. He's on pace to finish with more receptions (77) and receiving yards (1,263) than his breakout sophomore campaign.

"I think he's the best player in the country," said Buckeyes coach Ryan Day on NBC last Saturday at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison. "They put so much attention to him, but he just continues to make plays."

Harrison isn't the favorite to win this year's Heisman, but he does have a case to receive an invite to New York City next month. According to BetMGM, Harrison has the sixth-best odds at +13000, and the highest odds of any non-quarterback.
