Buckeyes Now Have No. 1 Recruiting Class For 2024

The Ohio State Buckeyes have taken over the No. 1 recruiting class over the Bulldogs after recent commitments and the loss of a five-star tight end by Georgia.

The Ohio State Buckeyes got a pair of weekend commitments, and on Monday, Georgia lost one, putting the Buckeyes on top of On3's team recruiting rankings for the class of 2024.

The Buckeyes' commitments total 12 now, with five significant commits since April. Five-star wideout Mylan Graham, four-star quarterback Air Noland, four-star running back James Peoples, four-star linebacker Payton Pierce, four-star tight end Max LeBlanc, and three-star running back Sam Williams-Dixon have all committed to Ohio State since the beginning of the month.

No one knows where the class goes from here, but the Buckeyes are also gaining momentum for the class of 2025.

Ohio State previously was at No. 2, trailing the Bulldogs by just 13 points. But Georgia saw five-star tight end Landen Thomas de-commit in favor of their rival Florida State Seminoles. That de-commitment along with recent commits to the Buckeyes put Ohio State over the top by a narrow margin.

Ohio State has also seen recent commitments from five-star cornerback Charles Lester III, four-star defensive end Booker Pickett Jr., four-star cornerback Corian Gipson and three-star defensive end Darien Mayo.

The Spring Game helped, as Ohio State landed two of the top six national recruits following the scrimmage.

The Buckeyes need to maintain steam to keep the top spot, and that's easier said than done.
