Ohio State Buckeyes to Open Stadium Early vs. Penn State Nittany Lions

The Ohio State Buckeyes are opening their stadium a bit earlier than normal before their matchup with the Penn State Nittany Lions.

The No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes are looking to see the most scarlet and grey as possible on Saturday vs. the No. 7 Penn State Nittany Lions.

Ohio Stadium will open at 10 a.m. for fans to enter, 30 minutes earlier than the normal opening time of 10:30 a.m.

In addition to the stadium opening early, Ohio State will host its third annual “Scarlet the Shoe” game where the team features its all-scarlet uniforms.

Fans may get caught up in pregame activities, however, as both ESPN’s “College Gameday” and FOX Sports’ “Big Noon Kickoff” will be in attendance for fans to watch live.

FOX’s crew, including former Ohio State head football coach Urban Meyer, will make its second appearance in Columbus this season after the Maryland game on Oct. 7.

The ESPN crew will be in Columbus for the first time this season.

Ohio State has won its last six games against Penn State dating back to 2016. The last Nittany Lions team that beat the Buckeyes featured current NFL standout running backs Saquon Barkley and Miles Sanders, tight end Mike Gesicki, and wide receiver Chris Godwin.

Penn State will look to end their losing streak and have not been more primed to do so since 2016. The team has the No. 1 overall defense in the country, headed by junior defensive end Chop Robinson and junior cornerback Kalen King.

"Well, you know what they (Penn State's defense) are coming off of last year. They were a very, very good defense," Day said on Tuesday. "And you can see the turnovers they're creating. And they played against some solid teams. It's not like they haven't played against anybody. They played against some Big Ten teams... They're a very good defense."

Ohio State will look to see as many fans as early as possible Saturday.

The Buckeyes and Nittany Lions will kick off at noon on FOX.
