Garret Wilson Reacts to Aaron Rodgers Jets Trade Rumors

The opening of the NFL's legal tampering period was a confusing day for former Buckeyes wide receiver Garrett Wilson.

The opening of the NFL's legal period was an emotional day for current New York Jets and ex-Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Garrett Wilson.

On Monday afternoon, a report from Trey Wingo said that the trade between the Jets and the Green Bay Packers that would team future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers up with Wilson was a done deal. Wilson reacted on Twitter, saying, "I can finally enjoy my vacay now."

It was the first of three tweets, with the second one talking about how big his smile was after hearing the news of his new quarterback.

That smile would later become confusing, as other reports stated that the deal was not done and still wasn't a done deal as to whether Rodgers would retire or play another season.

"I ain't gon fake it, I thought 'Dov' bro was the news break I was waiting for," Wilson said. "Smh. [I don't know] anything. Sorry [about] that."

Despite the inconsistent quarterback play in 2022 that plagued the season for the Jets, Wilson earned the Rookie of the Year award honors as he racked up 1,103 yards and four touchdowns on 83 receptions.

Rodgers joining the Jets would be an exciting prospect for both, as Wilson could rest a little easier knowing he has a Hall of Famer under center. At the same time, Rodgers would inherit a No. 1 wide receiver in Wilson, something the Packers' offense was missing after trading away Devante Adams.
