New Michigan Commit Jordan Marshall Has a Buckeyes Background: 'It's Going to Be Crazy'

2024 running back Jordan Marshall committed to the Michigan Wolverines on Tuesday despite having ties to Ohio State.

The Michigan Wolverines landed a commitment from 2024 four-star running back Jordan Marshall on Tuesday, a Cincinnati, Ohio, native who attends Archbishop Moeller High School.

It was a win for the Wolverines on the recruiting trail as they beat out the in-state Ohio State Buckeyes for the pledge of Marshall, despite Marshall having some family ties to Michigan's biggest rival.

"It's going to be crazy. Some of my friends are big (Ohio) State fans, so is my papa," Marshall said in an interview with On3.com. "But he is going to start rooting for Michigan. I'm excited to play those guys. Just know after Blake and Donovan leave, just know that we are coming back to run that ball!"

Marshall's friends and family will have to wear navy and yellow instead of the scarlet and gray repped by the Buckeyes.

As Marshall said in the interview with ON3, Michigan, under head coach Jim Harbaugh has created a reputation for running the football in a day and age of the spread offense. That mentality of hard-nosed football is certainly appealing for a running back like Marshall.

The Buckeyes and Wolverines will meet again on November 25th in "The Game," as Ohio State will look to overturn the two-game losing streak
