Dan Apple Named Executive Director of Buckeyes Cohesion Foundation

The Ohio State-focused NIL collective announced the newest member of its board on Wednesday.

When name, image, and likeness laws were introduced into college athletics it was clear that things would change in a hurry, but not many people predicted just how much they would have changed.

While some schools can recruit on name brand alone, on today's new age of college sports if you want to recruit with the big boys NIL has become something you must be up to speed with.

For the Ohio State Buckeyes, the non-profit collective Cohesion Foundation launched in April 2022. The Cohesion Foundation was founded to become a trusted resource to educate, connect and foster opportunities for Buckeye student-athletes to support charities they support.

As well, the foundation is an official sponsor of the Buckeyes via the school's athletics multimedia rights holder, LEARFIELD’s Ohio State Sports Properties. This sponsorship allows Cohesion to gain exposure through multiple official Buckeye avenues, and serve as sponsors of Buckeyes Care and the Ohio State Four Miler.

On Wednesday, Dan Apple was named to Cohesion's board as the Executive Director of the Cohesion Foundation.

“Cohesion has developed a strong board of directors, comprised of highly respected and tenured leaders with notable accomplishments in the community. As a board, we look forward to working with student-athletes to support and further empower charities.”

Multiple notable Buckeye legends have provided support for the Cohesion Foundation, including Archie Grifffin and Jack Nicklaus, as the foundation aims to pay student-athletes to provide marketing for partner charities.
