LOOK: Buckeyes Commit Jeremiah Smith Reaffirms Pledge

Ohio State Buckeyes 2024 commit Jeremiah Smith gave fans an update on social media about where his recruitment stands.

Any questions about the commitment of Jeremiah Smith to the Ohio State Buckeyes may be put to rest after a tweet he released on Wednesday night.

Smith, the 2024 five-star wide receiver according to the 247Sports composite rankings, tweeted the chestnut emoji along with the lock emoji, sending the message about where his recruitment stands.

Despite being pledged to the Buckeyes since December of 2022, rumors started that he may be looking elsewhere. These rumors were started shortly after the commitment of ex-Buckeyes pledge Dylan Raiola, who recently flipped to the Georgia Bulldogs. The speculation and commitment of Raiola coincided with Smith taking an official visit to Athens on the same weekend that the top quarterback prospect would be in town.

The buzz of the Bulldogs potentially flipping the Smith away from Ohio State was only exacerbated by a picture of the Buckeyes commit donning some Georgia gear ahead of a workout.

Yet, there is still a long way to go until signing day, and if the recent buzz is anything to show for it, Buckeye fans may never truly be comfortable with Smith's pledge until he signs the dotted line.

But for right now, they can feel a little more at ease that Smith's tweet reaffirms his pledge to continue his career in Columbus.
