Ex-Buckeyes Pledge Dylan Raiola Commits to Georgia

The top quarterback in the class of 2024, Dylan Raiola has found a new home.

On Tuesday, the former Ohio State Buckeyes pledge Dylan Raiola announced on social media that he is now committing to the University of Georgia.

Raiola is the No. 1 prospect in the 2024 class according to the 247Sports Composite rankings and was once set to become a Buckeye. But after making his verbal pledge in May of 2022, he would free himself back up this past December.

Since taking himself out of the Buckeyes' 2024 class, which is now the consensus No. 2 ranked class, the Phoenix, Arizona native has visited Nebraska, USC, and Georgia.

It seemed at that point Raiola already had his top three choices; if he were to go to Nebraska, he could follow the legacy of his dad Dominic, who played center in Lincoln before playing in the NFL.

In comparison, USC would allow him to learn from a proven quarterback developer and innovative offensive mind in Lincoln Riley.

And finally, there was Georgia, who, despite losing their well-respective offensive coordinator Todd Monken from their two national championship teams, is putting together a reputation for developing NFL talent.

As we know now, Raiola chose Georgia, where he'll hope to develop into the first quarterback the Bulldogs have had drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft since Matthew Stafford in 2009, who was a teammate of Dylan's dad with the Detroit Lions.

Yes, the decommitment of Raiola stung for Buckeye fans hoping to land him. However, head coach Ryan Day and Co. rebounded quickly, landing the commitment of fellow top quarterback prospect Air Noland, a four-star in the 247Sports rankings.
