Former Oklahoma State star quarterback Mason Rudolph finally got a moment to shine in the NFL last season. Despite being drafted in 2018 by the Pittsburgh Steelers, Rudolph has spent his entire career as a backup quarterback.

Last season, Rudolph was backing up former first-round pick Kenny Pickett. When Pickett went down with an injury, he was replaced by Mitch Trubisky rather than Rudolph. The offense remained stagnant and was an issue, and this led to Rudolph getting the starting job to close out the regular season.

Starting the last three games of the regular season, Rudolph led the Steelers to a 3-0 finish to the season and helped them earn a playoff berth. While Rudolph and the Steelers were eliminated from the playoffs by the Buffalo Bills, the former Cowboys quarterback was able to showcase his ability to play winning football under center at the NFL level.

With the NFL free agency less than a month away, the former Oklahoma State quarterback has decisions to make. Should he return to the Steelers and compete for the starting job, or take another opportunity to compete for a starting job elsewhere?

Mark Kaboly of The Athletic believes the grass isn't greener for Rudolph, and leaving for a fresh start doesn't make sense.

"Rudolph definitely wants a chance to be able to compete for a job and start somewhere. That's number one for him," Kaboly said on 93.7 The Fan. "Number one for him is to go somewhere and have a chance to play, and if he feels that's her, obviously he will sign here. But there's no 'fresh start' somewhere else. That is just totally not true."

Rudolph absolutely starred at Oklahoma State in his four years with the program, and every Cowboys fan wants to see the quarterback get more of an opportunity at the pro level.
