On Wednesday, October 10th, Oklahoma State safety commit Landyn Cleveland received a scholarship offer from Alabama. The Mansfield, TX product committed to the Pokes back in April while on an official visit.

Although Alabama is a big school and an even bigger brand in the college football world, Landyn Cleveland is locked in with the Cowboys. When asked what his thoughts were on the new offer, he responded with, "It's cool, big time school for sure, but I'm not going nowhere."

The safety prospect is touted to be a "highly productive tackler" by 247 recruiting analyst Gabe Brooks, and that shows on the stat sheet. Cleveland tallied 116 total tackles in 10 games as a Junior for Mansfield Legacy. He also has five career interceptions.

Cleveland projects as more of a hybrid, box-safety type of player at the next level, but he has experience playing over the top. He has also been gaining experience at cornerback, as that is where he has been playing over the past couple of weeks.

It may be a bit worrisome to some fans that the second-highest-rated player in the class has received an offer from such a highly regarded school, but at the end of the day, it doesn't seem like Cleveland will decommit from Oklahoma State.

The relationships with the staff at Oklahoma State are very strong, and it's very hard to overcome that and flip somebody if you are another school. He is a guy that wants to be in Stillwater playing for the Pokes.
