While Oklahoma State has been working in the transfer portal securing a few commits and retaining plenty of talent to build for a good 2024 season. In the meantime, they also continue to build their future as they complete their mission on the recruiting trail.

Their most recent move comes in early signing day, which has seen 16 different signees officially become Cowboys (follow our tracker here), as Oklahoma State flipped three-star TCU commit LaDainian Fields. The athlete from Del City is the cousin of Cowboys signee Rodney Fields, a running back from Del City.

Growing up in Oklahoma City, Fields grew up an hour south of Stillwater and received the offer on Dec. 11. Evidently, he decided the best move for himself saw him ending up in Stillwater with his cousin.

Fields initially committed to TCU in August, but Bryan Nardo did just enough to flip the defensive back. Fields is a versatile athlete, playing on both sides of the ball in his high school career.

During his senior year of high school football, he had seven interceptions on defense while racking up 1,450 receiving yards and 22 offensive touchdowns.

Defensive back is a position the Cowboys could use some depth and help at, and some of the 2024 signees could see some early production within the program. Landyn Cleveland, Willie Nelson and David Kobongo are three other defensive backs to have signed with the Cowboys on early signing day.

The 6-foot-1 defensive back was ranked No. 16 in Oklahoma and proved every bit of that after an astonishing final season of high school football. With Fields, among others, signing with the Cowboys on Wednesday, All Pokes has you covered with live updates and news. Follow along with our tracker along with our site for more pieces like this.
