STILLWATER -- According to Robert Allen of Go Pokes, Oklahoma State running back Jahmyl Jeter has entered the transfer portal. The redshirt freshman out of Brennan High School in San Antonio, TX is currently in his redshirt freshman season.

Jeter is currently behind Heisman candidate running back Chuba Hubbard and second-string back LD Brown.

Jeter, a 6-0, 215-pound running back, has played in three games so far this season, McNeese State, Texas and Kansas State. He's recorded 11 total carries for 35 yards, an average of 3.1 yards per carry.

Jeter's had to fight a couple of injuries in the past few seasons, one that cut his senior season at Brennan short, and then an ankle injury that he suffered in a preseason scrimmage back in August.

As mentioned above, Jeter is working to try and get some more playing time as he's also competing against JUCO transfer Dezmon Jackson. Jackson's out of Hutchinson Community College and has also been fighting the injury bug.

While it's unfortunate and it's never ideal for a team to lose depth at any position, the Pokes won't be hurting at running back following Jeter's departure. Oklahoma State features one of the best backs in the country in Chuba Hubbard who's rushed for 1,094 yards and 13 touchdowns through the first six games of the season.

Jeter came to Oklahoma State in the 2018 signing class after having a great career for San Antonio Brennan. Even though his senior season was cut short due to injury, he still managed to rush for 1,033 yards and 16 touchdowns. His junior season was even better as he rushed for 1,576 yards. Throughout his career, Jeter racked up 4,008 yards and 57 touchdowns and helped Brennan to four-straight 6A Texas playoff appearances.
