OSU Football: Cowboys Land PWO Commitment From 2024 Linebacker

Oklahoma State has secured yet another preferred walk-on commitment for the 2024 class.

Mike Gundy and Oklahoma State's 2024 class continues to grow. While a good deal of the class is already set and signed from early signing day, the program has added players whether it be through the transfer portal or preferred walk-on commitments lately.

On Wednesday, that list grew for the Cowboys. Yamil Talib, a linebacker from Plano, TX, committed to the program as a preferred walk-on. He's another commit to the Cowboys class from the Dallas-Fort Worth area, which is something Gundy and his staff consider to be recruiting locally.

The linebacker will join Bryan Nardo's 3-3-5 defense which has seen linebackers stand out -- particularly Collin Oliver, Nick Martin and Xavier Benson -- and allows for them to be playmakers. For a preferred walk-on, this allows for Talib to enter an opportunity to grow and develop his game while fighting for a scholarship.

If a preferred walk-on from surrounding states were picking a Power Five team to join, Oklahoma State provides an incredible opportunity that has seen plenty of unranked or low-ranked players develop into big-time players.

The linebacker from Berkner held offers from UAB, Texas State, Mississippi Valley State and Texas-Rio Grande Valley. His highlights from his senior season can be found here or watch it below.
