OSU Football: Oklahoma State Offers Four-Star RB From California

Can Oklahoma State land four-star RB Karson Cox?

Oklahoma State has been making moves on the recruiting trail in the 2025 class, garnering needed interest from blue-chip prospects around the country. They have recently extended an offer to another talented player, this time from California in the form of running back Karson Cox.

On Monday, March 4th, four-star running back Karson Cox announced an offer from Oklahoma State. Cox hails from Oak Hills High School in Hesperia, California. He stands in at 6-foot, 190 pounds, and he is rated as the 231st overall player in the country (#18 RB) by the 247 Sports Composite ranking system.

Cox is a member of the 2025 class, and he currently holds offers from several high-tier P4 schools such as Oregon, USC, and Washington.

Cox plays on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball. This past year he rushed for 1,349 yards and 19 touchdowns on 128 carries. He also caught 12 passes for 176 yards and three touchdowns. He ran for over 100 yards in seven of his ten games played.

Defensively, Cox tallied 23 total tackles on the season, as well as three sacks according to MaxPreps. While he shows more promise on the offensive side of the ball, the fact that he does play two ways shows a bit of promising athleticism.

With this likely being Ollie Gordon's final year at Oklahoma State, the Cowboys need another face in the room to keep the machine churning. Cox certainly has the talent to be a threat coming out of the backfield, even if it doesn't top Gordon.

If he were to commit to the Pokes, it would help to add some depth at running back, and potentially give you a superstar to lean on later down the line.
