This game had Big 12 shootout written on it from the beginning. The Oklahoma State Cowboys scored on their first three drives, though the third drive resulted in a field goal -- which felt like a missed opportunity at the time. Kansas then began driving the ball and scoring, which led to them taking a 19-17 lead.

Oklahoma State's offense had stalled out, but the defense stepped up and forced a couple of stops in a row, helping the offense get back on track. Ollie Gordon was the player to reignite the offense, though, with a 42-yard rushing touchdown.

Through the first half, Gordon has 170 all-purpose yards. He's gained 80 yards on the ground on nine touches, good for 8.9 yards per carry. Gordon has backed up his impressive ground game with 97 receiving yards on five receptions. He's scored a touchdown both on the ground and in the passing game.

The game plan should be clear, and that's feed Gordon the ball. He's been a monster in this one, and he's the reason the team is down just one point, trailing Kansas 25-24 at halftime.

If Gordon can keep tearing up the Jayhawks' defense, the rest of the offense will continue and open up, allowing the Cowboys to start piling points on the Jayhawks.
