OSU Softball Cracks the Top 10 in Final Preseason Rankings

The Cowgirls were slotted at No. 9 in the USA Today/NFCA DI Top 25 Coaches Poll, which is their highest preseason ranking this season.

Last preseason rankings; best preseason rankings.

The USA Today/NFCA DI Top 25 Coaches Poll was released on Tuesday, and Oklahoma State was slotted at No. 9 in the preseason rankings.

It is the third straight year that the Cowgirls are in the top 10 to start a season, and it is the first top 10 preseason ranking this season.

OSU posted a 47-16 last season, including reaching the Women's College World Series for the fourth consecutive season.

As the team has been recognized, several Cowgirls have been honored as well, especially Lexi Kilfoyl.

The senior has been on any player watchlist you can think of, including being named on Softball America Preseason Top 100 earlier in January.

Another player that cracked the Softball America Preseason Top 100 is catcher Caroline Wang.

Wang is a transfer from Liberty University, where she was a two-time ASUN Player of the Year. She will be replacing veteran catcher Taylor Tuck, who graduated after the 2023 season.

Three players from last year's team return this season, as Tallen Edwards, Micaela Wark and Kyra Aycock will look to help the Cowgirls reach the WCWS for a fifth-straight season.

Oklahoma State opens up the 2024 season on Feb. 8, when it takes on Cal State-Northridge in Northridge, California.
