The sexual battery case against former Oklahoma State wrestler A.J. Ferrari has been dismissed.

According to court records, the case was dismissed on Friday. Ferrari was initially charged with a felony count of sexual battery in August 2022.

According to reports, on July 5, 2022, a Stillwater woman filed a protective order against Ferrari. In a statement to The Oklahoman, Ferrari’s attorney provided a statement after the allegations in 2022.

“The allegations against A.J. are false,” Chance said in the statement. “It is unfortunate that a student-athlete can become a target, primarily because of their status as an elite athlete. AJ is cooperating with law enforcement and is confident the truth will come out. He appreciated his time at Oklahoma State, but he and the university mutually agreed a change was appropriate.”

Ferrari allegedly performed unwanted sexual acts while holding the victim down in bed. Because of the allegations, Ferrari was no longer with the team as of July 2022.

At OSU, Ferrari was a national champion in 2021 with a 20-1 overall record. In 2022, Ferrari suffered a season-ending injury in a car crash in January while he had amassed a 10-0 record.

Ferrari still has NCAA eligibility and could still wrestle in college if he chooses to do so. Ferrari’s father, AJ Ferrari Sr., made a statement after the charge was dismissed.

“We thank the District Attorney - Laura Thomas for her due diligence and our attorney - Derek Chance,” Ferrari Sr. posted on Facebook. “We thank our family and friends for their countless prayers, steadfast loyalty, and support. We would like to specifically thank the Ciatto family and the Knowles family. We look forward to the next chapter.”
