The Pitt Panthers record books need to be updated.

PITTSBURGH -- Pitt Panthers running back Israel Abanikanda has broken not one but two single-game school rushing records. In Week 6 against Virgina Tech, the Panthers superstar claimed the most rushing yards and touchdowns in one game in Pitt history.

The Pitt junior also claimed the team's single-game rushing yards record. The mark, set by Tony Dorsett in 1975, was previously 303 yards. With a little over five minutes remaining in the fourth, Abanikanda took his 35th rushing attempt six yards, claiming the record with 304 yards.

Abanikanda also tied the Panthers' single-game rushing touchdowns record. Beating his career-high of five, the star runner found the endzone six times against Virginia Tech, tying Norman Budd's single-game record held since 1910.

The six touchdowns also ties the ACC single-game record.
