WATCH: Dawn Staley Gets Last Laugh On Finebaum Caller Who Guaranteed LSU Win
Fresh off of a huge win over the No. 9 LSU Tigers on Thursday night, South Carolina women's basketball coach Dawn Staley had a receipt to cash in. Joining the ever-polarizing Paul Finebaum on The Paul Finebaum Show on Friday afternoon to talk about the Gamecocks win, Staley was about to get off the line but left a message for Dwayne from New Orleans.
Dawn: "I heard you had a caller [this] week talking about us."
Paul: "We had a guy call in from Louisiana who was guaranteeing a victory, and I tried to talk him off that ledge coach."
Dawn: "Tell Dwayne I said hi."
Dwayne, based on the location and circumstances, was obviously an LSU fan who was confident that his Tigers could knock off Staley and the Gamecocks, which, unfortunately for him, didn't happen. A lesson for fans of all the other women's college basketball programs: You come at the queens, you best not miss.
South Carolina will be back in action on Sunday afternoon when they take on the Vanderbilt Commodores.
