Gamecock MBB Team Listed On The Bubble By ESPN's Joe Lunardi

The postseason analyst that's most synonymous with men's college hoops has South Carolina's men's basketball team on the bubble.

Lamont Paris and South Carolina's men's basketball team have generated a lot of buzz in Columbia due to their 7-0 start, their best since the 2016-17 season when the Gamecocks went on a legendary Final Four run. At first, fans were looking for improvement, then the head coach's attire choices created a movement. Now the Garnet and Black faithful are beginning to wonder if maybe, just maybe, this team has a shot of getting the program back to the NCAA Tournament.

Although the team still has to navigate a couple of challenging non-conference road games and a competitive SEC slate, this wish is no longer a mere pipe dream, as in the first bracket projection by ESPN bracketologist Joe Lunardi released on Tuesday, the Gamecocks were listed as one of the First Four teams out. If South Carolina could defeat Clemson on Wednesday night and avoid faltering against East Carolina, they could very well find themselves in the mix for a tournament spot in future projections.
