Gamecocks Dispense Offer To Purdue Outside Linebacker Khordae Sydnor

After having put a lot of initial focus on the offensive side of the ball, South Carolina's Football staff seems to be turning their attention to the defense.

While idea of what the biggest positions of need are for South Carolina's Football program heading into this offseason is subjective, there's no question that one position group that has to improve is the edge rusher and/or outside linebacker position. Especially when in their 4-2-5 formation in 2023, this unit struggled to make much of a consistent impact both in rush defense and in pass rush.

This most recent offer from the Gamecocks seems to have that those performances in mind, as Shane Beamer and staff have dispensed an offer to Purdue outside linebacker Khordae Sydnor.

Spending three years in West Lafayette, Khordae bursted onto the scene in 2022, racking up 22 total tackles, including 6.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks, leading to him being named an Honorable Mention Freshman All-American by College Football News. However, the 2023 season didn't go according to plan, as Sydnor played in four less games, and accumulated 5 total tackles, including 2.5 tackles for loss and 2 sacks.
