ICYMI: 2026 Gamecock QB Commit Landon Duckworth Rises Up Rankings
On Tuesday afternoon, one of the biggest recruiting headlines of the offseason hit the airways and e-ways, as 2026 five-star quarterback and No. 1 overall prospect Julian Lewis reclassified to 2025. With that move being official, there's been a reshuffling of the rankings in the 2026 class, with one Gamecock pledge being caught in the middle of it.
The new look 2026 player rankings from 247Sports have Gamecock quarterback commit Landon Duckworth ranked as the third-best prospect at his position, behind Jared Curtis and Brady Smigel. Duckworth, a Jackson, Alabama native, has been committed to South Carolina since last August, and recently, he has been making his presence felt on the hardwood to keep himself active in the off-season.
Running back Ezavier Crowell, Duckworth's teammate, also possesses a Gamecock offer. This past season, the 5-foot-11, 215 lbs. back had ten 100+ yard games, rushing for 1,737 yards and 25 touchdowns.
