With Spencer Rattler leaving South Carolina's Football program and heading onto the NFL, plus Tanner Bailey and Colten Gauthier leaving in December, Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks were in desperate need of bodies in the quarterback room. If they didn't get anyone before Spring ball, they would've only had two surefire scholarship quarterbacks on the roster in LaNorris Sellers who, despite being uber-talented only played 21 snaps this past Fall, and Dante Reno, who quite literally just moved into his freshman dorm in the past week.

Beamer and the offensive staff took the first step in addressing the numbers-situation at the QB position earlier tonight when they landed Oklahoma transfer Davis Beville. Beville was rated a three-star QB and the 22nd-best pro-style quarterback in the 2019 class according to 247Sports. He also has ties to the Palmetto state, being from Greenville and playing for the Red Raiders in high school.

Spending his first three seasons at Pittsburgh and his last two in Norman, Davis has completed 37 of his 62 career passes for 339 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. He has one year of eligibility remaining.
