ICYMI: South Carolina Makes Top 12 For Five-Star WR In 2025 Class
Outside of Mazeo Bennett this past recruiting cycle, the South Carolina Gamecocks have struggled to land enough heavy hitters on the recruiting trail at the wide receiver position since Shane Beamer took over the program. The head man has already made some alterations this offseason to change those fortunes in upcoming recruiting classes by moving Justin Stepp to the tight end coaching position and bringing in ace recruiter and friend James Coley to coach the wide receiver position.
It's still a bit too early to say how much of a positive impact these moves have had on the trail, but it doesn't seem to be hurting the Gamecocks either, as evidenced by 2025 five-star wide receiver Caleb Cunningham including Carolin in his Top 12 on Monday.
The Gamecocks are joined in this group by Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Florida State, Tennessee, Auburn, Florida, Oklahoma, and Georgia Tech, making it clear that the idea of playing in the SEC at the next level intrigues the Choctaw County product.
