Pac-12 expansion still in play if the nine schools stick together

The situation with the Pac-12 is as confusing as it gets at the moment

The Pac-12 finds themselves not only with their backs against the wall, but fighting for the survival of the conference.

There are a handful of scenarios that are being thrown around right now, and while the majority involve the Pac-12 breaking up in some way or another there is one path to survival. However, in order for the Pac-12 to survive they need to move, and fast.

According to Action Network's Brett McMurphy, the Pac-12's possible deal with Apple is set to expire at the end of this week.

If the Pac-12 is able to get everyone on board in short order and accept the deal, it was revealed that they can look into expansion. A move that would likely consist of adding San Diego State, SMU, and at least one more other program.

Whether or not they have the time or the approval rating from around the conference with all but two teams being linked to another conference, is a different story.
