Stanford lands commitment from 2024 linebacker Brandon Booker

The Cardinal were able to flip the Baylor commit

Stanford's recruiting has been a subject of discussion over the past weekend due to the slew of talented recruits that visited Palo Alto for official visits.

As I wrote about earlier, based on how a couple of staffers were posting on social media it was evident that the program had a successful weekend and were expecting a few commits.

While it us unclear if former Baylor commit Brandon Booker was among the handful of recruits visiting, he did in fact announce his commitment to Stanford after backing off his Baylor pledge.

The three-star linebacker out of DeSoto, Texas is a great athlete that aside from helping DeSoto make it to the Class 6A-Division II state championship is also a decorated track athlete. Booker chose the Cardinal over programs such as Baylor, Arkansas, Auburn, and Colorado among others.

According to 247Sports, he ranks as the No. 650 player in the country, No. 60 linebacker, and the No. 103 player in the state of Texas. He was a tackling machine this past year, recording 137 tackles, 9.5 tackles for a loss, 1.5 sacks, and also grabbed four interceptions.

His commitment boosted Stanford's recruiting class from No. 58 to the No. 49 class in the country, as he is now the highest ranked commitment of the class thus far.
