On a cold night in Boulder, Colorado the game between the Stanford Cardinal and the Colorado Buffaloes started about as poorly as one could imagine for Stanford.

A dropped touchdown pass and a penalty in the red zone kept Stanford off the board, while Colorado continued to air it out and add to their lead. The Buffaloes went on to build a 29-0 lead at halftime, which of course led to many questioning the state of the Stanford program and what exactly went wrong with the one-time West Coast giant.

To start the third quarter, Stanford came out swinging in a big way. Their defense was putting pressure on Shedeur Sanders, while the offense finally was clicking thanks to the connection between Ashton Daniels and wide receiver Elic Ayomanor.

Daniels hit Ayomanor in stride on a slant which he took 97 yards to the house, and followed it up with a 60-yard touchdown catch.

After stopping the Colorado offense again, the Cardinal were charging down the field and also got some assistance from a Travis Hunter unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. Justin Lamson then powered in the score to cut Colorado's lead from 29-26.

Hunter made up for his costly penalty with a touchdown of his own, grabbing his second score of the day to extend the lead to 36-26. However, the Stanford offense targeted Hunter and every other corner on the field who happened to be in front of Ayomanor the next drive, as they drove down and answered with another touchdown of their own to make it 36-33.

After holding Colorado scoreless again, Stanford was able to again maneuver downfield to set up a game-tying field goal for Josh Karty who nailed it to send it to overtime. Colorado was able to score on their first possession, giving Stanford a chance to answer, which of course it was Ayomanor who did with an amazing grab on Hunter's head.

The next possession after stuffing Colorado at the goal line a couple times, Alaka'i Gilman picked off an errant Shedeur Sanders pass.

Stanford ended up setting up a Karty field goal to win the game, ending their four-game losing streak, winning by a score of 46-43.
