Stanford 'Up For The Task' Against the Oregon State Beavers

The No. 12 Oregon State Beavers are hosting the Stanford Cardinal on Saturday.

The No. 12 Oregon State Beavers (7-2, 4-2 Pac-12, No. 12 CFP) are hosting the Stanford Cardinal (3-6, 2-5) on Saturday. Stanford head coach Troy Taylor knows how developed and skilled the Beavers' football program is.

"Strong culture that they've created up there," Taylor said. "Those guys believe in what they're doing. They do a great job at developing those players. I think they're especially tough at home. Watching them play, they play with, they're good on the road too but they play there's just something special at home for them too. I think it's a great crowd, a great environment. They're an explosive team on offense. They've got really fast wide receivers, they're quick and hard to get a hold of."

The Beavers are on a hunt to get an invitation to the Pac-12 championship match, so a win against the Cardinal is absolutely crucial for Oregon State. Following the Stanford matchup, the Beavers host No. 5 Washington and then travel to play No. 6 Oregon, so their plate is pretty full. But for now, Oregon State needs to focus on defeating the Cardinal.

Taylor and the rest of the Cardinal roster are prepared for a tough challenge this weekend, but the head coach has reassured the media that his roster is accepting the challenge with open arms.

"Defensively they're very sound, very aggressive,"Taylor said. "They're typically not a team that will beat themselves...our guys are up for the task. It's a great challenge. It's a really really good football team."
