Jesse Edwards & Judah Mintz Highlights vs NC State

Syracuse basketball's point guard and center led the Orange to victory.

Syracuse basketball needed a quality win desperately to keep its NCAA Tournament hopes alive. Tuesday night, the Orange got just that by knocking off #23 NC State 75-72. Judah Mintz and Jesse Edwards were key parts of Syracuse's efforts. Highlights of their performances are in the video above.

Neither Mintz nor Edwards are outside shooting threats. Mintz was making just 19% of his three pointers coming into Tuesday night's game, while Edwards had never even attempted one in an official game. Yet both make key three pointers that aided Syracuse's victory.

With a little over nine minutes remaining, Syracuse was at the end of the shot clock and Chris Bell had the ball. NC State gave him no room to operate and he passed the ball to Edwards behind the three point line with three seconds left on the shot clock. Edwards had no choice but to line up the shot and take his chances. Of course he drilled the shot to put the Orange up five at the time.

NC State would battle back though, taking a three point lead with just a couple of minutes remaining. Enter Judah Mintz in the clutch. After a scramble for a loose ball, Edwards grabbed the ball while on the ground and passed to a wide open Mintz at the top of the key. Mintz swished the three pointer to tie the game.

In total, Edwards and Mintz combined for 38 points, 19 rebounds, 10 assists, two steals and two blocks.
