Class of 2025 Syracuse (NY) CBA athlete Darien Williams had committed to Syracuse football, he announced on social media Saturday. Williams is a 6-0, 165 pounder who plays wide receiver and defensive back. He is also a track star with great speed.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank every program that offered and took an interest in me,” Williams said in a social media post. “After much prayer, conversations with my family, my pastor, and my coaches I have decided to commit my academic and athletic collegiate career to Syracuse University.”

Williams is rated a high three star prospect by 247Sports, On3 and Rivals, considered the top player in New York by 247Sports. He picked the Orange over offers from Boston College, Colorado, Penn State, Pittsburgh and others.

This is the second in-state commitment in as many days for Syracuse. Friday night, under the radar defensive back Javon Lawrence committed to the Orange out of North Rockland High School. The addition of Williams gives Syracuse three total pledges in the 2025 recruiting class. He joins the aforementioned Lawrence and four star edge Sharlandiin Strange. All three commitments are in the Northeast. Lawrence and Williams are from New York State while Strange hails from Pennsylvania.
