Darrell Gill Commits to and Signs With Syracuse
Class of 2023 Humble (TX) Atascocita wide receiver Darrell Gill has committed to and signed with Syracuse on National Signing Day. Gill officially visited the Orange this past weekend where he picked up an offer, and inked just days later. He picked Syracuse over offers from Purdue, Washington State and South Dakota State. San Diego State was also among those expressing interest.
"Choosing Cuse was really easier than I led on because the University has everything I need to succeed, including pursuit of my NFL dreams," Gill said. "I have the best coaching staff, teammates that love the game just like I do. I smell an Orange conference championship! My degree plan is engineering and I haven't seen anything like the school of engineering at Syracuse. One of the best in the country."
Gill is listed as a 6-3, 180 pound wide receiver who is also a track star and runs a 4.4 40-yard dash. During his senior season at Atascocita, Gill had 55 receptions for 1,148 yards and 12 touchdowns.
He becomes the 16th high school or junior college prospect in Syracuse's 2023 recruiting class and 22nd overall including transfers. Gill is also the second wide receiver, joining fellow speedster Bryce Cohoon out of Maize High School in Kansas.
