Donnie Freeman Schedules Syracuse Official Visit

The elite class of 2024 forward will visit the Orange April 6-8.

One of the top forwards in the 2024 class, Donnie Freeman, will officially visit Syracuse basketball April 6th through the 8th, he tells All Syracuse. This follows head coach Adrian Autry visiting Freeman at his school last week.

A 6-9 forward, who is a four star prospect and considered a top 30 or top 40 player this cycle, Freeman averaged 21.0 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game during his junior season at St. John's College High in Washington (D.C.).

"He said he wants to be versatile on offense," Freeman said. "He feels like that fits my game. Defense, they're no longer going to run just the 2-3 zone that they're known for. They're going to deviate from that and go to man. Change the principles up a little bit. But he might, according to his words, switch to it sometimes but their primary defense will be man to man."

The fact that Autry scheduled an in person meeting shortly after becoming the head coach at Syracuse left an impression on Freeman.

"It means a lot," Freeman said. "They've been recruiting me since the eighth grade, himself and the Syracuse program. They're making the full court press on me now because it's prime time for players to be making their college decision."
