Four Star Edge KingJoseph Edwards Commits to Syracuse

The Orange adds to its impressive recruiting haul.

Four star Hoschton (GA) Mill Creek edge KingJoseph Edwards has committed to Syracuse, he announced on Tuesday. Edwards was one of the first high profile targets to pop up on the radar after the Orange hired head coach Fran Brown. He officially visited the weekend of December 8th. Edwards chose Syracuse over other finalists Colorado and Florida State.

Edwards' relationship with the Syracuse coaches was a significant factor in his decision. That includes defensive ends coach Nick Williams, who was his primary recruiter at Colorado before coming to the Orange.

"My relationship with coach Williams goes back three years," Edwards said after his visit. "He is a big part of why Syracuse is one of my top schools. He basically told me he needed my skill and size. Told me he'd make me into the player I need to be to go pro."

In addition to Colorado and Florida State, the talented Mill Creek standout also holds offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Duke, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Louisville, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Mississippi State, NC State, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, USC and many others.

Edwards is considered a four star prospect by 247Sports and ESPN. On3 and Rivals rate him as a three star recruit. Edwards is listed at 6-4, 220 pounds. Edwards is ranked as the 274th best by ESPN. He is ranked the 26th best player at his position by Rivals, 22nd best by 247Sports, 33rd best by ESPN and 64th best by On3.
