Four Star Edge KingJoseph Edwards Recaps Syracuse Official Visit

The talented 2024 recruit is closing in on a decision with one more visit on tap.

Four star 2024 Hoschton (GA) Mill Creek edge prospect KingJoseph Edwards took an official visit to Syracuse over the weekend. He was posting photos and videos from his perspective of the trip on social media throughout, and seemed to genuinely enjoy himself.

"The visit was cool," Edwards said. "All week I was speaking to the recruiting staff. They wanted to make sure they accommodated me well. They treated me good and took care of me."

Edwards player host on the visit was Denis Jaquez Jr.

"He was super informative about the program," Edwards said. "He has a good attitude and was fun to hang out with. We spoke about his goals, what i was looking for and what I wanted from a college program. He told me he loves the changes coach Fran was implementing. He has been hurt in the past so he spoke about the psychological support coach provided him with since his arrival."

During the visit, Edwards spent time with the Syracuse coaches. That includes new defensive ends coach Nick Williams, who was also his primary recruiter at Colorado before coming to the Orange.

"My relationship with coach Williams goes back three years," Edwards said. "He is a big part of why Syracuse is one of my top schools. He basically told me he needed my skill and size. Told me he'd make me into the player I need to be to go pro."

The plan from the Syracuse coaches is to use Edwards as an edge rusher/outside linebacker type to take advantage of his combination of size and athleticism.

Another unique experience during the visit was having a hibachi dinner in the JMA Wireless Dome and having a Ferrari there as well.

"Hibachi in the Dome was real good," Edwards said. "The experience is something I'll never forget. The Ferrari was very nice. This was my first time experiencing anything like that."

Other aspects of the school stood out during the visit as well.

"The campus is nice," Edwards said. "The atmosphere and culture is what I liked most. When we were out in the city, people would stop me and tell me they needed me and hoped I chose Syracuse."

Next up for Edwards is an official visit to Florida State starting December 15th. He has a commitment date set for December 19th, the day before the early signing period begins.

"To be completely transparent, I like the school and the campus, but they are high on my list because of my relationships with the staff," Edwards said. "Coach Fran, coach Williams and Robinson are what really draw me to the program."
