Four Star Quarterback Jakhari Williams Commits to Syracuse

The Orange lands one of the best signal callers in the 2024 class.

Class of 2024 Macon (GA) First Presbyterian Day quarterback Jakhari Williams has committed to Syracuse following an official visit. Williams, a 6-3, 190 pound dual threat quarterback, picked the Orange over offers from Boston College, Coastal Carolina, Georgia Tech, NC State, Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech, among others.

Williams is rated highly by each of the four major recruiting services. On3 rates Williams as a four star recruit. 247Sports, ESPN and Rivals, however, have him as a high three star just outside of four star territory. On3 ranks Williams as the 179th best player overall in the 2024 cycle and 11th best at his position. ESPN ranks Williams as the 15th best dual threat quarterback in the class, while 247Sports puts Williams at 50th best quarterback.

During his junior season, Williams completed just under 60 percent of his passes for 2,384 yards, 21 TD and 11 TD. He also ran for 1,018 yards and 14 more scores.

In November 2022, Williams committed to in-state ACC school Georgia Tech. However, he decommitted from the Yellow Jackets last month. Several other schools got involved at that point, including Syracuse. The Orange made Williams' final five, scheduled an official visit, and made a big impression during that trip.

Williams is the second quarterback commitment for Syracuse this cycle, joining Brendan Zurbrugg.
