Class of 2024 Montvale (NJ) St. Joseph Regional running back Yasin Willis has committed to Syracuse following an official visit this weekend. The 6-0, 200 pound back was previously committed to Pittsburgh.

One of the top running backs in the Northeast, Willis is rated a four star prospect by Rivals and a three star prospect by 247Sports, ESPN and On3. Rivals ranks him as the 191st best recruit overall in the 2024 cycle, 12th best running back and the top player in New Jersey.

Willis joined a host of four star recruits invading Central New York this weekend as the effects of Fran Brown's recruiting prowess are immediately felt. He is the second power five flip of the visitors, joining wide receiver Jaylan Hornsby who flipped from Texas A&M. On3 ranks Willis as the 91st best running back in the class, while 247Sports puts him 46th best at his position. ESPN slots Willis 65th.

In addition to Syracuse and Pittsburgh, Willis held scholarship offers from Alabama, Boston College, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisville, Maryland, Michigan, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Penn State, Rutgers, South Carolina, Virginia Tech and West Virginia, among others. He took official visits to Pittsburgh and Rutgers over the summer before making a decision. Willis was committed to the Panthers since late July.
