Class of 2025 Upper Marlboro (MD) Rock Creek wide receiver Giyahni Kontosis picked up an offer from Syracuse recently. He also holds scholarship opportunities from Boston College, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Minnesota, Tennessee and Virginia Tech, among others. 

Coach (Mike) Johnson came and checked us out at practice," Kontosis said. "Watched me run some routes and do some drills. We had a great conversation after practice and he offered me.

"He just let me know he had been watching my film and he likes what he sees. He also told me always listen to my coaches, focus on school and about how he wants to get me up there on a visit." 

Kontosis said he was excited to pick up the offer from the Orange. He started smiling afterwards because three of his coaches at Rock Creek are former Syracuse players. 

"Cornelius Campbell former DT 2003-2007, Tanard Jackson former DB and was drafted by the Buccaneers, and Vaughn Smith former OT," Kontosis said. "They were definitely pumped up, especially my offensive coordinator Vaughn Smith. He said, 'you got the best college looking at you.'"

While nothing is set in stone, Kontosis says he and some of his teammates who were also offered plan to visit over the summer.

Mike's career started with his own free blog as a way to vent following sporting events. That site was called Nation of Orange, and Mike quickly established it as a go-to for Syracuse fans.  After running Nation of Orange for several months, a position with the Syracuse site on the Scout network became available. After one year as the recruiting expert with Cuse Nation, he was named the publisher. Mike oversaw the transition from Scout to 247Sports, and ran the site on that network for years.  Presented with the opportunity to join one of the biggest names in the sports journalism industry, Sports Illustrated, Mike jumped at the chance. All Syracuse was started from scratch by Mike and the Fan Nation team. It has now become a staple for Orange fans of various sports.  Mike has broken news on recruiting, Syracuse basketball and football team information and has established himself as the top recruiting inside in the market. He has appeared on local radio shows, television broadcasts, national radio shows and much more. Mr. McAllister has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and Information Management from Roberts Wesleyan College.
