Jaylan Hornsby Flips From Texas A&M to Syracuse

The class of 2024 wide receiver has committed to the Orange.

Class of 2024 Camden (NJ) Winslow Township wide receiver Jaylan Hornsby has flipped his commitment from Texas A&M to Syracuse. The talented wide receiver took an official visit over the weekend. His primary recruiter at Texas A&M was Elijah Robinson who is now the Orange's defensive coordinator.

Hornsby is listed at 6-3, 204 pounds. He picked Syracuse over offers from Duke, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, NC State, Notre Dame, Oregon, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Wisconsin and others. Hornsby is rated a three star prospect by all four major recruiting services (247Sports, ESPN, Rivals and On3). He was rated a four star by Rivals but was downgraded to a three star on December 6th.

Fran Brown was only been the coach at Syracuse for a matter of days when the effect of his recruiting prowess was already being felt with high profile, elite prospects taking a much more serious look at the Orange. That includes taking official visits with National Signing Day rapidly approaching.

The addition of Hornsby to Syracuse's 2024 recruiting class gives the Orange two wide receivers this cycle. He joins fellow Garden State product Ta'Ron Haile, who committed to Syracuse back in June out of Millville High. Haile has remained committed through the coaching change.
