Class of 2025 Somerville (NJ) High defensive lineman Jayden Loftin was offered by Syracuse when he visited for Big Man Camp over the summer. He recently took an unofficial visit to Central New York when he attended the Orange's game against Clemson in the JMA Wireless Dome.

"Cuse is amazing and the Dome is out of this world," Loftin said. "The way it sounds when the crowd erupts after a big play or even just the style of the Dome. Everything about it is great."

Being from New Jersey, the 6-4, 235 pound athlete's primary recruiter is Nunzio Campanile. In addition, as a defensive line recruit, Chris Achuff is also involved in the recruitment. Loftin was able to speak with both during the visit as well as head coach Dino Babers.

"I was able to talk to coach Nunzio, coach Achuff and I finally met coach Babers," Loftin said. "Their message was just to keep grinding and they were glad to have me on campus."

The Syracuse head coach left a strong impression during their conversation.

"He's a very straightforward guy," Loftin said. "You can tell how much he cares about the team and the winning culture they are building."

The offer Loftin received from Syracuse was his first and remains his only to date. However, he is on the radar of several other power five schools including Duke and West Virginia.

Mike's career started with his own free blog as a way to vent following sporting events. Shortly thereafter, a network of basketball sites called Coast 2 Coast Hoops asked him to run their Syracuse site.
