Syracuse football held its Elite Prospects Camp on Sunday. Here are names to know based on who I watched. Note that there were well over 400 high schoolers participating, so I could not see everyone.
CLASS OF 2024
DL Adam DeSantis: DeSantis is from the Binghamton area and firmly on Syracuse's radar. He looked agile and quick at times during camp. No immediate offer was extended, but he could earn one with a strong senior season.
OL Max Wang: Wang measured at 6-4, 317 pounds and performed well during one on ones. The Houston Memorial High standout earned a preferred walk-on offer from Syracuse as a result of his camp performance.
CLASS OF 2025
WR Daunte Bacheyie: Bacheyie is at CBA locally, and ran a 4.6 40, one of the fastest clocked times at the event. He measured at 6-4, 183 pounds as well. Beyond that, he was physical during one on ones and made impressive catches through contact. An intriguing prospect moving forward.
WR Shacre Colwell: The class of 2025 wide receivers started with the secondary group of prospects. He was performing so well, Syracuse quarterback Garrett Shrader personally brought him over to the primary group. In his first rep, he torched a DB on a post and made a nice catch. The kid runs very smooth routes, but is on the skinny side. If he can add strength to his frame, he has a lot of potential.
QB Arnaud Dugas: The Canadian quarterback throws a nice ball. His arm is strong enough to play at the power five level and he displayed nice touch on several throws during one on ones as well. He is one Syracuse will continue to monitor moving forward.
QB Benjamin Newman: The Western New York product had a solid camp. He has a good arm and moves well. He was at his best putting touch on the ball but does have solid arm strength as well. Another quarterback Syracuse will continue to monitor.
OL Ewan Newton: The Canadian prospect is coming to the US to play the last two years of his high school career at Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire. He is physical, moves very well and shows good technique.
DB Jahsyn Reid: A talented defensive back out of New Jersey, Reid already holds a Syracuse offer. He was really good in one on ones, showing physicality, closing speed and ball skills.
WR/TE Rafael Terrero: An intriguing prospect who looks the part at 6-4, 200 pounds. He runs great routes and made catches through contact multiple times on Sunday. He could end up as a tight end because he is not a burner, or perhaps an Oronde Gadsden type role. Expect Syracuse to continue to monitor him.
CLASS OF 2026
QB Semaj Beals: Beals elite talent was evident from the first throw in the first drill. The ball just comes off his hand different than anyone else. During one on ones, he was extremely accurate as well. Syracuse offered before camp and will recruit him hard moving forward.
QB Antonio Fontanez: Fontanez has a great arm. The Pennsylvania product can throw the ball downfield 40+ yards effortlessly and routinely throws a perfect spiral. There was some inconsistency with ball placement at times, but also flashed the ability to fit it into tight windows. He is only 5-10 right now, but still growing. One to watch for sure.
DE/LB Horeb Noutchogouin Nouena: Another Canadian prospect who is firmly on Syracuse's radar, Horeb looks the part and is explosive off the ball. He moves very well for his size at 6-2, 230 pounds. He is still growing and will be one to monitor.
CLASS OF 2027
DL Carter Achuff: The son of Syracuse defensive line coach Chris Achuff, he is already 6-0, 240 pounds as a class of 2027 prospect. On top of that, he is fundamentally sound and moves well. He has a lot of potential.
DB William Kabolambi: Kabolambi is the younger brother of Matthew Bergeron. He is very skinny, but has a long frame and held up well during drills and one on ones. An intriguing prospect to watch.

Title: Publisher All Syracuse Education: Roberts Wesleyan College Location: Syracuse, New York Expertise: Syracuse basketball, football and recruiting. EXPERIENCE Mike McAllister has been covering Syracuse basketball, football and recruiting for more than a decade. Mike's career started with his own free blog as a way to vent following sporting events. Shortly thereafter, a network of basketball sites called Coast 2 Coast Hoops asked him to run their Syracuse site. That site was called Nation of Orange, and Mike quickly established it as a go-to for Syracuse fans. After running Nation of Orange for several months, a position with the Syracuse site on the Scout network became available. After one year as the recruiting expert with Cuse Nation, he was named the publisher. Mike oversaw the transition from Scout to 247Sports, and ran the site on that network for years. Presented with the opportunity to join one of the biggest names in the sports journalism industry, Sports Illustrated, Mike jumped at the chance. All Syracuse was started from scratch by Mike and the Fan Nation team. It has now become a staple for Orange fans of various sports. Mike has broken news on recruiting, Syracuse basketball and football team information and has established himself as the top recruiting inside in the market. He has appeared on local radio shows, television broadcasts, national radio shows and much more.
