1. QB Recruiting
Syracuse landed quarterback Brendan Zurbrugg over the weekend, giving the Orange one QB in the 2024 cycle. We know Syracuse would like to have two. Previously, Southern Miss commit John White visited. However, he is not expecting to pick Syracuse after giving it some thought and visiting Cincinnati. So where does SU go from here? There is another prospect visiting this weekend in Jakhari Williams. That visit, though, is dependent on how serious Williams' interest is in Syracuse. It is one thing to put a team in your top five, as Williams has done with SU. It is another to be seriously, strongly considering a school. If he is, he will visit and Syracuse will make a big push during the trip. If not, there are two scenarios. One, Syracuse holds the scholarship for a transfer. Two, a prospect emerges after the high school season this fall and Syracuse makes a push there. Stay tuned.
2. OL Recruiting
Some interesting developments in offensive line recruiting. Jack Small was originally supposed to visit this past weekend but that did not happen for unknown reasons. Similarly, Austin Leibfried was scheduled to visit as recently as Thursday but told me he was unable to make it. When I asked the reason, I did not receive a response. Curious to say the least. I could be something as simple as a last minute schedule conflict. It could also mean he is no longer interested or Syracuse is no longer interested. Either way, the combination of not having either visit is not a positive. Syracuse already has tackle Noah Rosahac committed and is heavily involved with Willie Goodacre, who visited this past weekend. The visit went very well with Goodacre and Kansas seems to be the biggest competition. Expect a decision in early July for him. Beyond that, Syracuse will keep evaluating into the fall most likely.
3. Jayden Brown
Brown is a talented linebacker out of Don Bosco Prep in New Jersey, one of the state's top programs. Syracuse made a huge impression this weekend and the Orange appears to be the favorite at this point in his recruitment. Boston College, Duke and Maryland are the top competitors (Purdue, Virginia Tech and West Virginia have also offered). A decision in the near future would be beneficial to Syracuse.

EXPERIENCE Mike McAllister has been covering Syracuse basketball, football and recruiting for more than a decade. Mike's career started with his own free blog as a way to vent following sporting events. Shortly thereafter, a network of basketball sites called Coast 2 Coast Hoops asked him to run their Syracuse site. That site was called Nation of Orange, and Mike quickly established it as a go-to for Syracuse fans. After running Nation of Orange for several months, a position with the Syracuse site on the Scout network became available. After one year as the recruiting expert with Cuse Nation, he was named the publisher. Mike oversaw the transition from Scout to 247Sports, and ran the site on that network for years. Presented with the opportunity to join one of the biggest names in the sports journalism industry, Sports Illustrated, Mike jumped at the chance. All Syracuse was started from scratch by Mike and the Fan Nation team. It has now become a staple for Orange fans of various sports. Mike has broken news on recruiting, Syracuse basketball and football team information and has established himself as the top recruiting inside in the market. He has appeared on local radio shows, television broadcasts, national radio shows and much more.
