It has been relatively quiet on the recruiting for Syracuse football in recent weeks, outside of the commitment of Ja'Meer Thomas. Here is the latest on their efforts in the 2024 class.
QUARTERBACK RECRUITING
Nothing much to report here as a new offer does not seem imminent. Syracuse is closely monitoring Jacob Zamot out of Millville High in New Jersey, but I think he more than likely ends up as a preferred walk-on target if anything. He has visited multiple times but I think Syracuse keeps its scholarship for the portal. The Orange entered the 2024 cycle looking for two quarterbacks. They have one committed but at this point it is more likely they hold the second for the portal. Syracuse has added a former four star quarterback in each of the last two offseasons and three of the last four. Do not be surprised if the Orange is active in that market again.
SYAIR TORRENCE
The local product remains a Michigan State commit, for now. However, given what is going on with the Spartans head coaching job, I do not expect him to stay there. Should he decommit, I think the Orange is in the best spot to get him back. He was a one time Syracuse commit but reopened his recruitment to take more visits and ended up flipping to Michigan State. While Michigan has offered, the one school that has stayed in constant contact despite his pledge elsewhere is Syracuse. Boston College has also been there to a lesser extent. But I think the Orange would be the team to beat should he decommit. At this point, I think a decommitment is likely.
WILLY LOVE
Nothing major here but Syracuse has remained in constant contact. I still think the Orange is the leader here, but his recruitment has been a hard one to figure out. Rutgers is still involved as well. The key for Syracuse is to get him on campus for an official visit after the season. If they do, a commitment is possible during that trip.

Title: Publisher All Syracuse Education: Roberts Wesleyan College Location: Syracuse, New York Expertise: Syracuse basketball, football and recruiting. EXPERIENCE Mike McAllister has been covering Syracuse basketball, football and recruiting for more than a decade. Mike's career started with his own free blog as a way to vent following sporting events. Shortly thereafter, a network of basketball sites called Coast 2 Coast Hoops asked him to run their Syracuse site. That site was called Nation of Orange, and Mike quickly established it as a go-to for Syracuse fans. After running Nation of Orange for several months, a position with the Syracuse site on the Scout network became available. After one year as the recruiting expert with Cuse Nation, he was named the publisher. Mike oversaw the transition from Scout to 247Sports, and ran the site on that network for years. Presented with the opportunity to join one of the biggest names in the sports journalism industry, Sports Illustrated, Mike jumped at the chance. All Syracuse was started from scratch by Mike and the Fan Nation team. It has now become a staple for Orange fans of various sports. Mike has broken news on recruiting, Syracuse basketball and football team information and has established himself as the top recruiting inside in the market. He has appeared on local radio shows, television broadcasts, national radio shows and much more. Mr. McAllister has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and Information Management from Roberts Wesleyan College.
